Lady Gaga’s newest music video for her song Paparazzi has been officially release and is featuring Neuro.

This 8 minute long epic is more than your standard music video. The acclaimed director, Jonas Akerland, ensnares the viewer and makes a strikingly unique music video. The video tells it’s own story as well as backing up the song and the cinematic effects make it feel more like a movie than a music video.

The visual aspects of this film are amazing! Dark themes and motifs of death, suicide, murder and revenge are countered by the visuals of Lady Gaga’s costumes. The scenes switch between barely lit and gray-scale to dancing and red carpet scenes. Akerland successfully juxtaposes images of death with very innocent and almost childish images such as Lady Gaga’s Mickey Mouse costume. The overall visual effect is stunning and tells a vibrant tale that is impossible to look away from.

Akerland starts his cinematic journey with the turbulent relationship between a celebrity, Lady Gaga, and her boyfriend, Alexander Skarsgard. After some passionate kissing, her boyfriend drags Lady Gaga out to the porch and forces her to put on a show for the paparazzi. She fights back and is thrown off the edge of the porch. She survives but her career is nearly ruined. She has to fight her way back into the graces of Hollywood through uniquely choreographed dances involving crutches and wheelchairs. He dances are interlaced with quick shots of other dead celebrities, but she perseveres and eventually gets her revenge. After regaining her fame she pours her boyfriend a glass of Neuro Sonic and slips in some poison powder. She is arrested and acused but her fame ends up soaring.
