Yesterday marked a special day during a special time of year in Fresno. Every year, on December 15th, folks gather for the lighting of Christmas Tree Lane, with many walking the Lane in memory of a child who passed away who once lived on that street (known as Van Ness Boulevard at other times during the year). One of the longest-running holiday events in the country, Christmas Tree Lane in Fresno marks its 87th anniversary this year. It began in 1920 with the decoration of a single tree in the memory of a child who died. The Lane went dark in 1941 [wartime restrictions] and 1973 [energy crisis]. In recent years, Lane coordinators have improved energy efficiency with better wiring, cutting power requirements by nearly 50 percent, which makes this tradition not only meaningful but green as well. How fitting for Neuro, a fully recyclable company, to participate this year.
Neuro joined in the holiday gala, handing out NeuroBliss to the crowd that gathered to walk, and remember. Christmas carols and hold hands all while strolling the Lane and taking in the array of lights and holiday decor. Over 100,000 people from all over visit Christmas Tree Lane, which is sponsored by the Fig Garden Homeowners Association. Catch some 140 homes and 300 trees lit up in the spirit of community!
