All Shook Up

March 17th, 2010

A lot of Southern Californians were woken up with a jot this morning as a 4.4 earthquake shook the state.  Being prepared in the event of an earthquake is something families should take seriously. Here are a few tips and don’t forget to have plenty of NeuroAqua on hand, should water supplies become affected!

  • Make sure each member of your family knows what to do no matter where they are.
  • Establish a meeting place where you can all reunite afterward.
  • Find out about plans developed by children’s school or day care.
  • Remember transportation may be disrupted, keep some emergency supplies—food and water on hand.
  • Keep shoes near your bed in case broken glass and objects prevent you from walking to exit.
  • Know where you gas, electric and water main shutoffs are and how to turn them off if there is a leak or electrical short.
  • Locate your nearest fire and police stations and emergency medical facility.
  • Talk to your neighbors–how could they help you, or you them.
