After a slow start to the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers are starting to shine. Their 13-3 victory yesterday against the Arizona Diamondbacks gave them a 3 game winning streak and helped build momentum. Their blowout victory yesterday was led by rookie pitcher John Ely who took a shutout into the seventh inning for his first big league win. Ely’s pitching was backed up with even better hitting. The Dodgers had 17 hits including a 3 run homer by Russell Martin in the 8th. MLB action is heating up! A celebratory cheer was heard throughout the California Bay Area on Saturday as the San Jose Sharks defeated the Colorado Avalanche and advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. 4 goals in the 3rd period of Saturday’s game left the Sharks up 5-2 and put the final nail in the Avalanche’s coffin. Neuro fans teed up at the Dessert Diamond Golf Tournament at Canoa Ranch for the 7th Annual Desert Diamond Casino Golf Classic to benefit the Tohono O’odham Community College. Held at the Torres Blanca Golf Club, nestled in the Santa Cruz River Valley at the foot of the Santa Rita Mountains the day offered amazing panoramic scenery from each tee. Sun, sea and polo – what more do you need on a beautiful afternoon as Hawaiian Polo Season officially kicked off this past weekend on the North Shore of Oahu. The day began with a Pony Parade and followed with matches by some of the best polo players and ponies in the state.
The beach side field was the perfect setting and many fans took a dip in the ocean between matches. Skydivers over the ocean made for a picturesque background to the day’s events and after the matches concluded, guests enjoyed live music and an open bar that made for picture-perfect memories as the sun set behind the mountains.
